JURA byl založen v Niederbuchsitenu, ve Švýcarsku v roce 1931. Od roku 1990 se společnost JURA specializuje výhradně na plnoautomaty pro přípravu kávy / espressa. Tato koncentrace přináší spoustu možností ve vývoji a zvyšuje tak nejen požitek z kávy, nýbrž i estetický dojem přístrojù. Poslední světové novinky se tak v krátkém časovém úseku promítají i v tomto vývoji. Otevřený systém plnì automatizovaných kávovarù umožňuje dostat z kávových zrn maximum chuti. Dnes mají domácnosti kávovary IMPRESSA v šesti řadách poskytující různorodé kávové speciality. JURA také udává tempo v designu a v tvořivosti kompaktní třídy uvedené na trh v roce 1998.
