New York XXXX is a coffee from the New York roastery's range, specifically designed for creating coffee-based specialties such as cappuccino and latte. Like all premium coffees from this brand, New York XXXX stands out with its strong, intense flavor, delicate notes of cocoa beans, and a velvety aftertaste.

The blend contains 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta, including the highly valued Jamaica Blue Mountain. Just like other coffees from the New York portfolio, this blend is recommended for true coffee connoisseurs. Due to its slightly higher caffeine content, it is perfect for daytime drinking; however, in the evening or before bed, a milder coffee is advised. The beans are sourced from Central America.

Origin of Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee

The beans come only from the best high-altitude Arabica varieties. To be labeled Jamaica Blue Mountain, the coffee must be grown at elevations up to 1,800 meters on the southern end of the island of Jamaica, covering a total of 6,000 hectares. In the rugged terrain of the Blue Mountains, around 25,000 small farmers work on the coffee plantations.

The coffee harvested from these farms undergoes strict quality control by the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board, which ensures the preservation and continuous improvement of Jamaican coffee quality. Production is now extremely limited, and most of the coffee is exported to Japan – making it a rare, exclusive, and truly exquisite delicacy.

The Story of Caffè New York

Caffè New York has a tradition spanning over 80 years. The family-run roastery was founded by the owner of the New York café in the spa town of Montecatini Terme, Tuscany. In the early 1930s, Ugo Incerpi purchased a coffee roasting machine to offer an exceptional product to his upscale clientele visiting for spa treatments.

His coffee became so renowned for its quality that by the weekends, people were traveling from nearby Florence just to enjoy Sor Ugo’s famous brew.

Since the mid-1930s, a Black woman has appeared on the coffee’s packaging – a symbol that became the trademark of Caffè New York and is still used today. In the 1950s and 60s, Ugo's son Onori Oscar took over the business. During that time, the roastery and café flourished and began competing with major coffee brands across Tuscany and Italy.

Today, the tradition and craftsmanship are being passed down to the third generation, and the original family approach to coffee-making continues to thrive at Caffè New York.
